Baked in-house
Our cakes, scones and sausage rolls are made in our own kitchen every morning. When they are gone, they are gone.
Independent café and tea room, Hitchin
The Copper Kettle is an independent café and tea room on Sun Street in Hitchin, serving locally roasted coffee, loose leaf tea and cakes baked in-house every morning.
Why the Kettle
Our cakes, scones and sausage rolls are made in our own kitchen every morning. When they are gone, they are gone.
Coffee from a Hertfordshire roastery, milk from a farm near Baldock and eggs from just up the road in Letchworth.
Four-legged regulars are always welcome. Water bowls and biscuits are provided at no charge.
Word around town
The lemon drizzle is worth crossing town for. I know, because I cross town for it every Saturday.
Proper tea in a proper pot. My Sunday is not complete without the window seat and the papers.
They welcomed my spaniel like an old friend. We are both regulars now, and only one of us gets biscuits free.
We are two minutes from Hitchin market square. Pop in for a flat white, stay for a slice of lemon drizzle.
