Hello, Hitchin. After months of sanding floorboards and arguing about paint colours, The Copper Kettle is open on Sun Street.

The short version of who we are: Priya bakes, Tom counts, and between us we wanted a café where the tea comes in a proper pot and the cake is made that morning, not delivered in a van on Tuesdays.

What to order on your first visit

If it is your first time in, we would point you at the lemon drizzle. It is the recipe Priya’s mum has guarded for thirty years, and it is the reason half our regulars found us.

Pair it with a pot of the house blend and take the window seat if it is free. That is the whole experience in one sitting.
